This spring will feature a mix of old favorites and new "ed-ventures".
MONDAY (4/20): KEEPER KAPERS
Once again, Capron Park Zoo is offering this fun favorite. Children will get "down and dirty" as they learn a bit more about what zoo keepers do everyday.
TUESDAY (4/21): ZOO MASTER CHEF
For this fun-in-the-commissary program kids will dig deep in the zoo's "recipe book" to re-discover and make new and different ideas for animal enrichment.
WEDNESDAY (4/22): SPRING FLING
Celebrate the spirit of Earth Day during this program that will get kids outside for a day of fun games and nature exploration.
Weather appropriate attire and extra clothes are REQUIRED for this program.
THURSDAY (4/23): LEAVE YOUR MARK
In this very hands-on program, children will take a look at soil, decomposers, animals AND plants. In the afternoon kids will get to "leave their mark" in the zoo by planning and planting a garden.
This program includes a dissection.
FRIDAY (4/24): KEEPER KAPERS
A great way to finish up the week is to be a part of this fun favorite one more time. Diets, exhibit cleaning and enrichment building are just some of the things planned for this day!

Capron Park Zoo Members:
$45/day or $160 for all five days
Non-Members:
$55/day or $185 for all five days

Dates and sessions listed below. All programs run from 9AM to 3 PM. All programs include snack and lunch.
Zoo Venture: For ages 5-7: Designed with 5-7 year olds in mind, ZOO VENTURE will introduce children to Capron Park Zoo's unique summer experience. Participants are encouraged to explore the world by learning about animals in the zoo's collection. Hands-on activities, games and more will start kids on their first steps in learning what it's like ot work in a zoo. It's a week of excitement and extra special "ed-zoo-cation".
Zoo Explorers: For ages 8-9: ZOO EXPLORERS is the next step in the summer experience at Capron Park Zoo. This program will excite first time and returning participants alike. Children will begin to take a closer look at animal habitats and the unique needs of animals in captivity. Combined with a more hands-on, behind-the-scenes exploration, this program will challenge your child while delighting them at the same time.
Zoo Journeys: For ages 10-11: ZOO JOURNEYS continues to build upon the knowledge gained in our other programs while introducing new, challenging topics and activities. Children will take a closer look at things like animal adaptations and the interconnectedness of all living things while still enjoying age-appropriate games and more. As they become more activiely involved in the daily keeper routine and animal handling, they will start to focus on what it takes to care for exotic animals in a zoo setting.
Junior Caretakers: For ages 12-15: This final step in the Capron Park Zoo Summer Zoocademy experience is a chance for young teens to experience ALL aspects of zoo operations, from exhibit design to animals acquisition. During this two week program children will focus on conservation while cleaning exhibits, doing diets and enrichment preparation and even animal escape drills. Junior Caretakers will also find out what it takes to join the teen volunteer program. CHILDREN MUST HAVE PROOF OF A NEGATIVE TB TEST TO FULLY PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROGRAM.
