Internships at Capron Park Zoo

 

Are you interested in working in a zoo and need to get some experience?

 

Capron Park Zoo offers unpaid internships to college students studying animals and animal-related careers. All interns will spend time working in the three major areas of zoo management: Operations/facility maintenence, Animal Care  and Education. Internships are 10-12 weeks long. Participants must be able to work 3 days/week, 4 hours/day

 

AREAS OF INTERN FOCUS AVAILABLE:

• Animal husbandry
• Conservation and/or informal education
• Construction or other vocational skills: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Age 18 +
• Background in animal care, biology, conservation, zoology, education or other conservation/animal related field*
• Secondary skills a plus
• Ability to lift 30 pounds
• Recent negative TB test

*Capron Park Zoo DOES NOT offer any veterinary experience as part of our internships
